Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a medical test that helps doctors see inside the body without surgery. It's a safe and painless way to get detailed pictures of organs, tissues, and other parts of the body.
How MRI Works
An MRI machine uses a strong magnet and radio waves to create images. When you lie down inside the machine, it uses these magnets to align tiny particles in your body. Then, it sends radio waves to these particles, causing them to produce signals. A computer processes these signals and turns them into images that doctors can examine.
What MRI is Used For
Brain and Spine
Joints:
Heart
Cancer
Advantages of MRI
No Radiation: Unlike X-rays, MRI doesn’t use harmful radiation.
Detailed Images: It provides very clear images, especially of soft tissues.
Versatile: It can examine many different body parts.
